Thomas formed TPA in 2001 after sixteen years with one firm. - Adjusting since 1986, including extended periods in both London and Malaysia.
- Involved in the New Zealand Dairy industry since 1988 and this exposure has provided a great depth of knowledge unique to this field. It has also broadened his skills and knowledge in the complementary fields of food technology and manufacturing processes.
- Thomas’ experience includes adjusting a wide range of claims such as major property damage in manufacturing plants, construction projects and major explosion damage, public and products liability, product recall and professional indemnity claims.
- He handles claims for a range of industries, including dairy, meat, coating adhesives, petrochemical and utility supply companies.
- He has adjusted claims in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, American Samoa, England, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Japan, Russia, Chile, Sri Lanka, Korea, the Philippines and Singapore.
- Many of the claims he handles involve damage originating from New Zealand but discovered overseas. These claims present a number of peculiarities to which few adjusters have been exposed and he has developed strategies for dealing with these types of exposures.
- His UK based examination qualifications were gained in the fields of liability and professional indemnity, areas with which he has been heavily involved in his adjusting career.

Peter joined as a partner with Thomas Pasley in 2002 as TPA reflected his philosophy of delivering the best we can on every assignment whilst recognising the specific requirements of each customer. |

- Peter has been involved in the insurance industry since 1981 and loss adjusting since 1988.
- Previous experience underwriting and working for extended period in Australia and London add to his understanding of clients needs.
- Claims experience includes public and products liability, professional indemnity, fidelity, construction works and major material damage.
- Similarly to his colleagues Peter has adjusted overseas losses originating or being discovered in the United Kingdom, Australia, Fiji, American Samoa, Tonga, Samoa, Cook Islands, and Japan.
- Previous management experience includes leading teams of professional adjusters in Victoria, Australia and New Zealand.
- Peter has also led offshore disaster response teams in the Pacific Islands.

Steve Kearvell

Janene Paki
Forensic Accountant/Loss Adjuster,
ANZIIF (Snr Associate), CIP
During what was a break in her University studies, Janene commenced loss adjusting in 1996, joining TPA in 2002. Janene has worked alongside Thomas and Peter Ziegler for a large part of her adjusting career, having spent her early adjusting years understudying Thomas in Dairy food industry assignments. It was during this time that she was introduced to major Property and Business Interruption claims and became well versed in the associated claims fields of liability and food technology processes.

Continuing with her University and insurance qualifications around her adjusting assignments reinforced the work she completes on a day to day basis. Janene has studied commercial law and cost accounting which have provided her with the skills to identify the legal issues that might arise in a claim, and then understand and track the flow of costs arising.
Janene has proven her ability to handle complex loss scenarios and recognise the technical and practical issues that might arise. She has handled claims for a wide range of processing industries including poultry, seafood, meat, wine and beverages, pharmaceuticals and horticultural. Her adjusting experience encompasses settlement of losses arising in such locations as Australia, Mexico, Fiji, South America, the Middle East, Asia and Russia. From adjusting property and liability claims she has progressed to develop her expertise in the investigation and adjustment of financial claims and providing quantum analysis for litigation support.
Janene's adjusting experience includes;
- Property claims ranging from $20,000 to the adjustment of key aspects of multi million Material Damage / Business Interruption claims.
- Preshipment marine / marine cargo claims usually engaged specifically to address the potential causative factors and the costs that flow, and thereby determine the most appropriate policy to respond to the loss.
- Products Liability, Public Liability and Recall claims, particularly with a focus on food and processing industries. Janene has handled liability claims for locations around the globe ranging in value from $15,000 to claim potentials of $650,000+
- Business Interruption claims including Loss of Rents and Dependency claims. Claim values range from $5,000 to multi millions.
- Fidelity Guarantee claims ranging in value up to $1,500,000.
- Forensic accounting and quantum analysis for litigation support including assignments in relation to Secret Commissions, liability claims, professional indemnity and commercial disputes.

Jill started work with TPA in October 2008 with the mission of ensuring the office and support systems run smoothly for the adjusters and customers alike. She has great experience in controlling wayward professionals and will help to ensure TPA continues to deliver quality, professional results to customers.

Peter Webb
Loss Adjuster
Peter joined TPA in 2006, bringing to the firm 26 years experience of specialist loss adjusting in New Zealand and overseas. He is well known for his work in technical areas of insurance, particularly engineering and aviation.
Loss adjusting since 1980 with special emphasis on aviation, engineering, energy industries, and operations in the Pacific Islands, key features of Peter’s professional experience include;

- Extensive practical involvement in the mining, mechanical engineering, construction equipment, manufacturing, and road transport industries in New Zealand and Europe. Manufacturing experience includes mobile plant, construction equipment, farm machinery, industrial transmissions and fire fighting equipment. He has also been involved in aviation, gas turbine sales and service, and transport operations management.
- Handling large and complex engineering defect investigations involving; electricity generating and transmission equipment, large industrial engines, marine engines, aero engines, gas turbines, and steam turbines in New Zealand, Australia, Fiji, Samoa, American Samoa, South America.
- Aviation hull and liability claims involving fixed wing, rotor wing, and maintenance operations, with particular emphasis on Hangar keeper’s liability and Airport Owners & Operators liability.
- Claims for industrial processes and machinery breakdown, electrical and electronic equipment, mobile plant, transport industry equipment, and civil infrastructure.
